The Hunger Walk raises awareness for food insecurity in our community and collects donations to stock our food pantry and holiday meal packages. Participants are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food item or $5 donation. This event also remembers the life of dedicated Parish House volunteer, Mark Petrosky, and honors his service to the Parish House and community.
During the Hunger Walk, participants will walk 1.1 miles around Buckhannon and learn more about food insecurity in Upshur County and the various programs the Parish House offers.
Did you know: In 2024, we distributed over 3,800 Food Packages and 600 Holiday Meals.

Pack the Pantry ContestNew this year- our Team Competition! Grab your local organizations, church groups, friends/families to form a team and compete for the most food items donated and the most attendees at the Hunger Walk.
Want to compete? Pre-register your team here We begin collected team donations on Sept. 22 at the Upshur Parish House (68 College Ave, Buckhannon, WV). Donations can be dropped off during our open hours (Mon-Fri 9am-1pm, Thurs 5-7pm). Help us spread this word about the team competition and this event benefitting our community! |
