It's estimated that 1 in 8 Upshur County residents are food insecure - meaning they are unsure how they will find their next meal. Through our partnership with Mountaineer Food Bank and the generous support of our community, we seek to build food security by providing emergency food packages to families on a monthly basis.  

How to Request Assistance

To confirm that you're a residence of Upshur County, please bring the following to your first visit:

• Name of everyone in the household.​
• Proof of Address such as a utility bill, lease agreement, etc. that has your current Upshur County address.
• Social Security Card for all members of your household. Used to verify identity. Will NOT be copied or entered.
• Proof of Income like a DHHR/SNAP letter or paystub to verify eligibility 

​Other demographic information may be collected in subsequent visits to better understand and support our community by providing targeted food assistance. Information sharing is optional and neighbors may opt-out at any time.
